WANG Youshen
Born in Beijing in 1964.
Graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1988. Currently lives and works in Beijing.
During the กฏ85 New Wave period Wang Youshen chose oil painting as his primary method of self expression. The artist was impressed by modernist philosophy and the German Expressionists and pursued a visual tension and a strength of character in his subjects. After graduating in 1989, Wang Youshen was invited to participate in the China/Avant-garde, his series of paintings A Serious Game utilized a mocking and symbolic language to satirize various social phenomenon. After the 90s he focused on medium and the expansion of shape, using more experimental language to explore social issues of the time.
