GU Dexin
Born in Beijing in 1962. Currently lives and works in Beijing.
While Gu Dexin was a primary member of the Tactile Art Group and the Xinkedu Group, his works possess very distinctive characteristics. Gu Dexin began his experimental painting in the early 80s, later he increasingly turned to burned plastic waste and other ready-mades to express human emotions, desires and the nervous relationships that exist within society. His works use absurd metaphor to convey the fragile and complex emotions in modern civilization. To let viewers experience the artist¡¯s creative environment, we have recreated Gu Dexin¡¯s studio during the 1980s.
